Each year the MSHSL recognizes 16 seniors statewide for their athletic, (fine) arts and academic achievements (AAA award). It is a prestigious award that many student-athletes apply for, but only a few get recognized at the state level. In January our very own Zach Baumgartner won the sub-section phase of this award which is a great achievement in itself. However, even better, today at the region 6A banquet Zach was selected as the AAA winner for the region!!! This is a very big honor that not many student-athletes achieve! Please give Zach a big congrats the next time you see him!
Here are some of Zach's accolades that earned him this award:
GPA: 4.0
Cross Country: 4x letter winner, 2x state participant
Basketball: 3x letter winner
Track & Field: 3x letter winner, 2x state participant
One Act Play: 6x participant, 1x state participant
Speech: 5x participant
Band: 4x participant
